Trevor's B-day!

Trevor turned 8 this past weekend and boy what a weekend it was. Jennifer and I are ready to rest after the weekend of parties.
It began with dinner out with mom and dad on Friday night. When given a choice of where to go, Trev choose Red Robin. Of course the waiters came out to sing to him, despite my pleadings otherwise. Jennifer and I decided that 8 years is a big deal so we did a birthday party at our house on Saturday. Trevor wanted a pirate theme, so Jennifer made a pirate treasure map invitation for his friends and cousins.
The group showed up and went on a mini-hunt for their pirate booty, which really were pirate clothes. Once they had their booty on their booties we then went on a treasure hunt. Jennifer made a cool map with burnt edges and everything. I spent the morning planting clues around the neighborhood including along the canal bank. One clue lead to the next. The kids eventually ended up back at the house where they found a treasure chest of swords. They then got their swim suits on and took turns walking the plank. Trevor had a great time.

The party continued on Sunday with the Duran's. Trevor asked for Sloppy Joe's and tater tots for dinner which was like a walk down memory lane for most of us. At the end of the weekend, Trev walked away with a turtle tank and turtle (and yes he already died), a new bike, a set of little boy golf clubs and lots of cash from family. Talk about booty! Was it that good when we were kids?

Jeremy-
I think you are enjoying your job of pushing small, helpless children into the pool way too much!
