Here comes another Christmas tradition - sheesh! we have a lot of these.
Christmas-time just would not be Christmas unless all of our senses were involved. This tradition is for the nose. We like to simmer a festive potpourri all month. The neighbors love to poke their head in to see if there's something baking because it smells SOOO good. "Sorry guys, it's not for eating!"
Here's the recipe:
Christmas Potpourri
orange peels
ground cinnamon or cinnamon sticks
water
Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan. Simmer on low for 1-2 hours. Replace ingredients each time you simmer. Enjoy!

You and me both...my mom did this growing up...I like adding nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice, I love the smell of pies...yum!
I am totally doing this. I love it. I think that this will be one of my NEW traditions.
